Alessi graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1987
where she studied fashion illustration. She worked as a
Fashion Illustrator for a bridal designer/manufacturer shortly
after graduation. Later she expanded her career into graphic design
and art direction specializing in fashion, applying her illustration
along the way. Finally realizing her love for drawing and painting,
she created the series called "The History of Fashion"
which encompasses a painting from various eras of fashion history
starting with the year 1920. The first print in the series is
called "Waiting to Dine". Pastels are the medium used
for these pieces of history. Other works are portraits, tasteful
nudes, victorian watercolor sketches and flowers.
